The display of archaeological remains with renewed building ”Chienkan” in Imadegawa campus

In 2019, we conducted an excavation survey at the Doshisha University History Museum for the reconstruction of the Chienkan on the Imadegawa Campus. This point was court noble residence in the Edo period. In the excavation survey, we found the remains of the mansion wooden buildings such as the cornerstone rows lined up, and the associated facilties. All of them had decorated the garden of the noble family's residence.
We reconstracted small part of such archaological remains with new modern building. I hope you will recall the scenery of the public residences of the Edo period on the Doshisha campus.
